【鷗友徒然草】模擬国連JEIMUN会議に参加しました
1月10日(土)～12日(祝月)に、オリンピックセンターにて行われたJEIMUN会議に本校からも中学3年生2名が参加しました。
会議中は英語のみでコミュニケーションをとらなければならないというルールが敷かれていたため、最初は緊張している様子の2人でした。しかし、会議開始後はいつもと変わらない様子で会議に臨んでおり、とても頼もしく感じました。
以下に、参加した生徒たちの感想を日本語と英語でそのままお届けします。
現在、世界各地で紛争が起こっている中、それらは世界中の人々の食糧安全保障を脅かしており、深刻な問題となっています。
今回の会議は、「紛争における食糧安全保障」というテーマのもと、All Englishで3日間開催され、私たちはAustralia大使として、初心者向けの議場に参加しました。
模擬国連の会議が多く開催されているこの時期に本大会に参加したため、非常に忙しい中でしたが、その分ペア間での協力の大切さを感じました。
また、これまでの模擬国連では経験したことのないユニークな交渉スタイルや活躍の仕方を見ることができ、新たな視点を得られました。
このような大きな会議、しかもAll Englishのものへの参加は初めてだったので、慣れないことも多く、難しさを感じましたが、様々な大使と関わる中で、たくさんの学びを得ることができました。今回の経験は、今後の挑戦へと繋がる大きな一歩になったと感じています。

Nowadays, conflicts are occuring in various parts of the world, and they are destabilizing food security worldwide. As a result, food insecurity caused by conflicts leads to hunger or even famine and has become a contemporary and severe issue globally.
This conference was held from January 10th to 12th on the theme of “General Measures for Food Security Issues Caused by Conflict”, where we only allowed to express in English.
We participated as the delegates of Australia, and commited to the discussion in the beginers’ conference.
There were many Model UN conferences during the season and we were very busy. But because of it, we were able to re-recognize the importance of cooperation in order to research and plan policies in a short time.
In addition, we were able to see various negotiation styles and ways of contributing that were different from what we had experienced in previous Model UN conferences, which gave us new perspectives.
Although there were many difficulties in getting used to such a conference, it was a very enjoyable and fruitful experience thanks to the many delegates we interacted. We will continue to challenge through Model UN!
